International fintech hackathon with a $7,700 prize to take place in Tbilisi

International hackathon Fintech Hackathon 2026 will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia

The international Fintech Hackathon 2026 will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, bringing together participants to develop technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges in the financial sector. The winning team will receive GEL 20,000 (approximately $7,700) and earn the opportunity to attend Singapore FinTech Festival 2026.

The hackathon is jointly organized by the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), Tech Park Tbilisi, the National Bank of Georgia, the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), and the Tbilisi School of Communication. The program is also open to international teams, including foreign startups and technology professionals.

Fintech Hackathon 2026 will give participants the opportunity to work on practical challenges presented by financial industry representatives and regulators. Before developing their solutions, teams will attend training workshops and mentoring sessions led by industry experts.

Projects will focus on several key areas, including Credit Risk & Lending, Fraud Detection & Anti-Money Laundering (AML), operational efficiency, algorithmic trading and investment portfolio optimization, as well as Open Banking interoperability and quality assurance.

The program will officially begin on October 15 at Tech Park Tbilisi with an opening ceremony. Following a week of online mentoring, participants will attend in-person sessions in Tbilisi. The final Demo Day will take place on October 28 as part of Tbilisi Finance Summit 2026.

During Demo Day, the best teams will present their projects to investors, business representatives, industry experts, and partners. The winning team will be announced and awarded on the same day. Organizers will cover travel and accommodation expenses for selected teams.

Eligibility and Participation Requirements

The hackathon is open to teams of 2–5 members, with all participants required to be at least 18 years old. Up to 20 teams will be selected through a competitive application process. The program will be conducted in English, and attendance at the in-person stage in Tbilisi is mandatory.

Each team member must complete the application form individually and indicate the same team name during registration.

Key dates:

  • October 10 — Application deadline;
  • October 15 — Opening ceremony in Tbilisi;
  • October 28 — Demo Day and award ceremony at Tbilisi Finance Summit.

Applications are open until October 10.
